"We enter Danbulla State Forest and are under heavy rainforest canopy for much of the steady uphill climb. We stop for a short swim at the mystical Kalorama Rocks before pushing on to the summit. The Mount Edith Lookout is a 40 minute return walk and offers magnificent views over surrounding mountains and the Coral Sea. We stop for morning tea here before cycling on downhill to the headwaters of Emerald Creek where the landscape changes to eucalypt forest with huge Rose Gums. The features of this ride, apart from the stunning forest, are the uphill and extraordinarily long downhill runs. We return to Kauri Creek for a well deserved cool swim and late light lunch before returning to Yungaburra
